Coming Soon: Sand Play Room — When Words Are Hard, Hands Can Speak

October 2026 · Student Care
At GMIS, we are preparing a quiet sand play room. With a tray of sand and small figures, children will take turns building their own little worlds: a beach, a home, a garden full of music.
Our teachers went first. Before welcoming the children, each teacher spent time in the sand room, so they know how it feels and can guide with care. The trays in these photos were made by our teachers and principal.

This is not a lesson and not a test. It is a free space where children can express what is inside and let out what they have been holding.
What the sand play room offers
A calm place to slow down
Feelings and ideas expressed without needing words
Imagination and storytelling with small figures
When a child needs extra care, our principal, a certified sandplay counselor, is here to help.
